Rush Creek in Top Condition as Summer Hits Full Swing

Posted by Rush Creek GC

Has anyone seen June? As I write this looking at the calendar, I can’t believe we are already past the 4th of July. Hopefully everyone has had achance to play at least a few rounds so far with more scheduled to come. Here is a quick update on what is happening at Rush Creek:

Hopefully you have noticed that the greens are in the best shape we have ever seen. Our green speeds have been consistently around 11 on the stimp meter and are really looking healthy and rolling true. The double aeration that we did in early April is paying off as well. We would have been scheduled to aerate the greens this week if we had not performed the double earlier in the year. Now we will not have to aerate until late August as previously scheduled.

Last week concluded another great event with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). The course definitely held its own with firm conditions and fast greens dominating some of the nation’s top juniors. Congratulations to boys winner Jordan Niebrugge from Mequon, Wis. with scores of 73-73-71, and girls winner Jisoo Keel from Coquitlam, British Columbia with scores of 73-76-73. A special thanks to those cardholders and employees who helped with this event by volunteering their time, it was much appreciated.

Our "Sounds at Sunset” evenings have been a great success. Make sure you stop out on Wednesday evenings for dinner or drinks on the patio and enjoy some of our local music talent. Music starts at 7:00 and goes until dark.

Those of you who are looking for a physical challenge need to look no further, come join Derek Stendahl and personal trainer Ali Holman here at Rush Creek. Ali has put together a complete work out program that is suitable for all fitness levels. Sessions will be Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday mornings and you can pick how many days you would like to attend. In one 45 minute session you will“feel the burn”.

We still have openings for our fabulous Friday Night Events  in July. This Friday, July 9th is a fun Parent/Child event.Shotgun start time is 5:30pm followed by ice cream. We also have another Wine & Nine scheduled for Friday, July 23rd.

It’s not too late in the season to get help with your game! Director of Instruction, Aaron Jacobson, along with Teaching Professionals, Luke Benoit and Mike Seiffert, are ready to assist players of all skill levels. The juniors programs have been well received and we have many options available to help every member of the family. Please visit our website and check out our entire list of lesson programs.

Special congratulations to Director of Instruction, Aaron Jacobson, for participating in the Professional National Championship recently in French Lick, Indiana. Aaron was one of 7 players from Minnesota to qualify for the event. Unfortunately, Aaron missed the cut, but participation at that level is quite an accomplishment itself.

Hopefully, our share of the summer rain is in the past and nothing but blue skies and fast greens in our future. We look forward to seeing you out here soon!
